Why do you recommend a laser printer instead of inkjet? Isn't inkjet more affordable?
You know the saying, "You get what you pay for"? This is how I feel about laser vs. inkjet. My career began working in offices, so I've had my fair share of experience with printers, everthing from the desktop wifi inkjet to the multi-thousands-of-dollars office print station. Here's my take:
Inkjet is cheaper on the front end, but you will pay for it in (a) quality and (b) frequency of replenishing your supplies. Inkjet is noisy, slow, and prone to drying out (if you ever have a cartridge last long enough to dry out). You'll likely find yourself making frequent orders for new cartridges, and don't forget to let that paper dry out if you print a color-heavy image on it, or it'll smear fast!
Laser printers are the better answer to everything I just mentioned. The absolutely only downside I can think of to a laser printer is the cost. Yes, the printer is more upfront, but it'll likely last you years longer (I've had the recommended printer for about the same time I burned through 3 or 4 inkjet printers). The toner will cost you more each time, but if you're like me, you'll only be ordering it about once a year, give or take a couple of months. Laser printers are quieter, faster, and cleaner on the final result. Some people might say they take up too much space, but laser printers have come a long way in condensing the amount of desktop they take, and they aren't that much bulkier than inkjet anymore.
