God Created a Family

Before God Created a Village, He Created a Family

You’ve probably heard the verse:

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

But have you ever paused to consider the context of that?

This wasn’t just a timeless piece of parenting advice floating in isolation.
This was a father (Solomon) speaking directly to his son, passing on
generational wisdom. His father, David, had passed wisdom to him, and now he was passing it to his son.

When Solomon said, “Train up a child,” he wasn’t just offering good advice; he was continuing a God-ordained legacy of intentional, family-centered discipleship.

In today’s world, we hear a lot about the power of community, of the “village” that helps raise a child.

We cherish our villages, value our communities, and deeply appreciate the support we receive from them—
but before God ever created a village, He created a family.

That’s where discipleship starts. That’s where education begins.

Whether you're homeschooling full-time, navigating toddler chaos while working from home, or just longing to raise your kids in the ways of the Lord—God has made His very own wisdom accessible to you.

He equips you to educate your children.

And that’s exactly why I wrote my new devotional book.
